As the Vice President of Product Design & User Experience, McLean led a 25-person Product Design Organization that shaped overall company design and innovation strategy for Shutterstock digital experiences. This included new feature development, UI/UX innovations, ecommerce strategy, internationalization and translation services, and design and front-end architecture. To get a sense of the scale, Shutterstock is publicly traded company in NYC with revenues of nearly $500 million, and over 75 million monthly visitors.

As Expedia, McLean was the Lead designer and manager of teams who directed the delivery, quality, and success of the user experience for the Flights, Packages, and Things to Do products. This encompassed the entire lifecycle, including optimization and innovation with new features, for our 100 million+ user base across 120 countries, accounting for billions of searches and tens of millions of transactions.
Products designed and launched included: Expedia Flights responsive; Expedia Flights roundtrip view; Expedia - Delta branded fares pilot program; Expedia - American Airlines paid seats pilot program; Expedia Flights Insight program; Expedia Flights supplier tool proof of concept; Expedia Things to Do supplier tool; Expedia Things to Do shopping integration and optimization; Expedia Ground Transportation stand alone path; Transactional email re-architecture; 300+ multi-variate tests.

As a Senior UX designer at CaringBridge, McLean worked on the new UI implementation, as well as feature development with online donations, mobile UX experiences and a partnership with Hallmark.
Products designed and released: Updated "look and feel" with new UI for platform; Hallmark "Careposts," and new UX for online donations experience.
